MK ChromaFlow is a powerful and flexible shader package designed for creating dynamic, screen space, and per-object gradient effects in Unity. It's a versatile shader package designed with a strong focus on usability and being artist-friendly. The package offers two key features: Screen Space Gradient via Post-processing and Tweakable Per-Object Gradient Shaders. The screen space gradient allows for dynamic gradients across the entire screen as a post-processing effect, adding smooth color transitions and atmospheric enhancements to the entire scene. The per-object gradient shaders give you full control over how each object blends and interacts with color gradients. Those shaders are implemented using Shader Graph. The package also includes a variety of features such as global intensity control, dithering, depth-based fading, gradient shape customization, blending, offset, and rotation options, and more. The package is designed to be easy to use and comes with an install wizard and shader variant stripping tool to get you started quickly. It also includes a variety of example scenes to help you get started quickly. The package is regularly updated, maintained, and supported.
Technical Details:
The package was created from scratch and hand-written, with a focus on a good trade-off in terms of quality and performance. It includes some core DLL files for easier updates. The package uses a custom shader parser, making custom modifications difficult. Post-processing can impact performance on weak devices. The package has some limitations, including not supporting transparent objects out of the box, potential issues with the Universal Render Pipeline 2D renderer, and limitations with Legacy Image Effects and Post-processing Stack v2. Shader Graph implemented shaders may not work with single pass instanced on the Built-in Render Pipeline.
